Michael Stone is a first-year master’s student in the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida. There, he also teaches two lab sections of JOU3109 Multimedia Writing, and reports and photographs for the PBS affiliate WUFT. Michael graduated with his bachelor’s in journalism in 2010 from Middle Tennessee State University. He worked for MTSU’s student-run paper for three years, heading it as editor in chief for one semester. He also completed two internships for the Daily News Journal in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and wrote several in-depth articles for the newspaper in between internships. After graduation, he was named one of two six-month interns for the Chattanooga Times Free Press. In the two years between the Times Free Press and graduate school, he launched and directed a news website for AOL, covering Cobb and Douglas counties in metro Atlanta.
